I strongly support making masks required while being out in public. It will help keep us safe and slow the spread. I fear bringing home this virus to my vulnerable family members when there are so many people without masks and community spread of COVID-19 is so high. Many people are acting like this is over and as we’ve seen with huge spikes around the country that isn’t the case. Please pass this ordinance.

I definitely support this order. I think requiring masks is necessary to reduce the transmission of Covid-19. Whenever I am in public spaces, indoor and outdoor, I notice the majority of people are not wearing masks. I am a resident of Milwaukee County.

Please keep us open, keep us safe. Without one we cannot do the other.

This ordinance is essential to promoting public health and saving lives. I would feel much more comfortable working in the public, going grocery shopping, and riding public transportation if the city required everyone to do their part and wear a mask. Please do the right thing—this is common sense disease prevention!

Wearing a mask is such a simple thing to do for many of us who are not working long hours or in hot temperatures. Since I have been going to grocery and hardware stores, I potentially could catch the virus. Therefore I wear a mask, just in case! People's lives are at stake. Many older people do not have access to internet or a smart phone to order everything for pick up or delivery so they are in the stores. Let's do our best to make sure they stay virus free.

There is contradictory evidence about mask wearing. Some health officials claim wearing masks will help
contain the spread of the corona virus while others claim with equal veracity masks are ineffective, and
some officials even posit that wearing masks for prolonged periods may be harmful to health.
As such, there is no overwhelming evidence to support mandatory mask wearing. Under such
contradictory circumstances it is not sensible for elected leaders at any level to enforce a mask wearing
    mandate.

Mask wearing is integral to stopping the spread of Corvid; a mask requirement will help and keep safe those most in danger, essential workers.
If business must reopen please insure that workers remain safe.

I am appalled at the ignorance in some of these comments! In many other places in the world, where every action is NOT a matter of having one's liberty curtailed, wearing a mask during a pandemic is a NO-BRAINER! The mask is not to keep you from getting COVID. It is to help keep you from unknowingly giving it to someone else! We know that people can have COVID and not know it, and those people can infect others. Masks have been shown to cut the potential transmission of the virus by as much as 80%! It IS science, people! Wake up - people are dying!

Get rid of the outdoor requirement at the very least. Preferably the whole thing - people should be able to make their own decisions

It is the right thing to do. Masks are scientifically proven to help stop the spread of coronavirus. If they want businesses to operate at 50% capacity-people need to be wearing masks at the very least. Although I think moving to phase four will quickly be reversed.

STRONGLY OPPOSE. There are NO studies on the effectiveness of wearing masks by the general public in public spaces. If the Common Council has such data, they are negligent in not sharing it with the rest of the country and the world. If a restaurant or business wants to set and enforce a mask rule, they are free to do so and the consumer can decide if they want to patronize that business or not. I for one will NOT spend any $$ in Milwaukee as there are other communities in which to shop and spend time.

It's not the job of unelected government persons, businesses, nor other persons to dictate or mandate ANY unsolicited, unfounded medical advice. In doing so they assume any and all medical and financial liabilities. Enacting this unfounded, unhealthy, overreach will result in more far more illness, deaths, and economic destruction than has already been waged on this city. Every tax paying business that is being strong armed or threatened to enforce these unconstitutional "guidelines" needs to sue these commitee members personally and professionally and take their money and business elsewhere.

I would no longer shop or visit Milwaukee. There are too many places all around Milwaukee that are friendly to EVERYONE. If you want to wear a mask, wear one. I don't, so I won't. My body, my choice, right?

It is not the place of the government to limit private citizens especially in places of business. That is the right/responsibility of entrepreneurs everywhere to do so. The governments place is not to empower them and anything less is an overextension under a pretense of a supposed moral authority of “govt knows best” at best and is at worst using a “public health crisis” for political pandering. If bars/restaurants are this worried about keeping everyone covered, maybe they shouldn’t open as it is impossible to eat with cover over your mouth and the virus doesn’t stop at 60 inches suddenly.

I Strongly Oppose forcing the Public to wear a mask. It has been a proven Fact, that wearing a Face Mask or Covering for Long periods of time Weakens Your Immune System. Most dont wear them correctly or even Follow the Correct guidelines for them anyway. Surgical Masks are Only good for 30 minutes in a CLEAN Room Setting ONLY! N95 masks are used to keep you from inhaling DUST PARTICLES! Face Coverings are useless And Very Harmful due to built up Bacteria growing around your mouth and nose. This is NOT a Communist Country. We are FREE to do what we Please. Keep it that way!
