I support a mask mandate! We as individuals have a responsibility to keep our communities healthy, as well protecting our families. There is no room for selfishness and slight inconvenience during a global pandemic.

I do not support face covering or masks as a requirement. This is in deep violation of our freedom and constitutional rights. The numbers of both deaths and cases of covid are inaccurate. Covid deaths: when an individual has died from a clear alternative cause but also had covid at the time, the government is saying death by covid. Covid cases: when an individual goes into one dept. Of a hospital they are tested. When they go into another debt. They are tested again. If each time they were positive, each test would be counted as one person. Therefore now 2 cases of covid. Not 1.

Contrary to common opinion, community mask-wearing does not prevent the spread of viruses. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons put out a compilation of mask studies. Please follow the actual science, not emotional, science-free opinions. https://aapsonline.org/mask-facts/?fbclid=IwAR3F66mIOUGrh7kusBb4ElWBHu3gOM9_tUgu1pRX-6qNhQxUuD3-YiK5bWo

I will be refusing jobs in Milwaukee if this passes along with looking for a new place of residence. The reasoning, the constitutionality, and the science are all questionable. Plus I am concerned about Milwaukee's commitment to protect me or allow me to protect myself from crime within their city limits.

Masks should be a choice. If someone has one on, there is no reason for someone else to have to wear one.
There is also no reason to wear one outside.

Anyone who votes for this has been paid off or told to do so by the Deep State. This is un-American and anyone voting for this should have to resign from office.

No civil magistrate has the authority to mandate the use of masks. It's a gross abuse of your authority. Such tyranny should be resisted by the people to keep their govt in check. I and many others will not comply with your lawlessness.
In addition, studies that came out long before Covid came on the scene have not shown masks to be the fail safe solution we've been led to believe they are and could in fact cause more harm than good when not used properly (which almost no one does). Not only do you not have the authority to mandate masks, it doesn't even make good scientific sense to do so.

Masks should be 100% personal choice.

Scientism may be all knowing, but science is certainly not. Clearly there is not true consensus on the efficacy or safety of face coverings, or this wouldn’t be such a divisive issue. Without a single evidentiary reference, a measure like this could be a slippery slope as to what the government deems essential in regards to making decisions over our bodies. I do not consent.

Masks should be a choice. It discriminates against deaf and people with multiple health issues it should be your choice not government

Because the government has no right to tell me what I can and can't wear! Look up science to know that masks don't work!

I strongly oppose. I will freely wear a mask when I am sick but not when I am healthy for the rest of my life. Stop trying to control people. I will not patron any business that requires I wear a mask. This is supposed to be a free country!

making legal requirements that force people to wear a mask is unconstitutional tyranny

I strongly oppose. This attempt at control and infringement on our personal freedoms is unacceptable. If one feels that they need to wear a mask they absolutely should do so, without holding others accountable to their personal choices. There evidence to support mask wearing is contradictory at best, and has not been proven to be effective. This mandate is over the top and unreasonable.

I oppose this ordinance. I notice there is no END DATE in the ordinance, tell me what the END DATE is and what metrics are being used? You cannot pass this without a defined plan and goal. COVID is no longer considered a pandemic, death rates have decreased to the average # of deaths in America/day. If masks and being 6 feet apart are the solution why wasn’t this implemented back in April? If this is the solution, I would expect that Milwaukee businesses will open up at 100% given that everyone is doing their part. Will that occur as part of this ordinance? Clear answers are needed.

How is this even being debated? It might not be much but if we want to keep leaving our houses then science (please refer to to how Brigham and Women's/Massachusetts General Hospital was able to stay open without any spread amongst coworkers) says wearing masks is our best shot. To quote Alexander Hamilton (so that everyone knows that I'm not trying to destroy the foundation this country was built on, looking at you Trump) "It's time to take a shot...I'm not throwing away my shot." I suggest you mandate no one else does as well bc we only win if we're in this together. God Bless.

Support mandated masks but not outside. Outdoor transmission rates are much lower than indoors and would halt increased physical activity momentum from quarantine era. Lack of activity is more widespread and will be around long after COVID is an afterthought.

This is so important, we shouldn’t even be debating it. We need to require masks to be mandatory in ALL public/shared spaces. I support this as someone who is a believer in public health and science, AND because I am immunocompromised, as are so many others in our city.

This is not about “freedom”, this is about curbing a dangerous, at times deadly, pandemic so we can finally get back on track.
