Wearing a mask in the middle of an increasingly deadly pandemic should be the easiest thing we do. The choice to put on a mask unfortunately continues to highlight all of the individualists in the community who find themselves immune to the virus, putting many others at risk with the optionality. Ensuring masks should be one of those things we are universally on board with - so please put this ordinance forward in favor of your constituents’ health.

I believe healthcare is a personal responsibility. This can look like different things for different people, & might not mean wearing a mask for everyone. As individuals we must make this choice for ourselves.

I do not agree that the government forcing its citizens to wear masks in public is just in a free society. My health as it relates to my body is my choice.

If the committee should choose to mandate masks & my voice gets drown out by my opposition, I would demand that the committee put into place a scientific measure that determines when masks are no longer needed.

    Thank you.

This ordinance will me a nail in the coffin for many business like mine. Please stay out of our private operations. Milwaukee will continue to struggle to keep small business when they do not understand them or make it easy for us to operate. The county line is to easy to cross. End this overreach!

COVID is the least of our worries at this point. We need to focus on opening up our economy before more lives are damaged. Requiring masks is a big step in the wrong direction, considering that the death rate is at its lowest and our hospitals have plenty of capacity.

If masks work so well, then why are places that have mandated it still seeing cases? We need to be able to get immunity. Hospitals are not overcrowded and we are not seeing increases in death. Please consider the fact that we need to be personally responsible for our own health, and not mandate a draconian restriction. I will attempt to file a lawsuit should this pass.

It is unethical and unconstitional to force healthy ciitizens to abide by measures that can result in physical and emotional harm and that impinge on their ability to abide by natural law and to follow their convictions to walk in faith and not fear. Mask wearing should not be universally mandated; measures that are meant to protect the community as a whole are ineffective if they hurt individuals in that community,

With understanding of airborne and non-symptomatic spread, evidence indicates that near-universal mask use helps reduce Rt to <1.0. Our bottom line – R0, and masks are a way to that direction.

Masks for the common good of ALL. For the good of personal health and health systems, socioeconomic and economic health, and moral/cognitive/emotional health. This may be our Last Chance and Last Choice to impede transmission unless we go back to Start. Let’s take the chance and make a choice for the common good. To contain the virus, masks must be worn in common by ALL -and may even unite us for good!

Government should outlaw cigarettes, they are known to cause death by cancer. Government should force people to wear condoms since they are shown to stop deadly STDs. Government should shut down all fast food restaurants since high fat foods lead to heart disease. Government should force citizens to exercise daily. Do these things sound obnoxious? So does government forcing individuals to obstruct their natural breathing with a piece of cloth that does nothing to stop the virus. Afraid? Wear a N95 mask and wash your hands.

Face masks work. Period. It's not up for debate. Choosing political pandering and ignorance over health and science is extremely dangerous. Pass the measure. A lot of our population are toddlers and need their governmental parents to make them do what's basic decency and care for their fellow humans.

These was enough opposition the first time to know this is not a good idea. Take it off the table and leave it off the table.

PLEASE require face masks! Cases are spiking all over the country, ICU's are getting closer to capacity if they aren't already there, and healthcare workers are falling sick. Hospitals are once again requesting refrigerated semi trailers to store dead bodies because their morgues are full. Once everything started reopening and summer hit people started acting like Covid went away, but it hasn't. It's been shown that wearing masks will prevent the spread if you're infected, so if EVERYONE wears a mask new cases will decrease dramatically.

I fully support a mask ordinance. We need to do anything we can to slow the spread of Covid in our communities.

We are mandated to wear seat belts, we are mandated not to smoke in public spaces, we all agree to do things for the safety and well-being of those around us. Mandating the wearing of a mask in public during a global pandemic is not an outrageous proposition. For the time being, the least we can do is cover our mouth and nose to protect everyone's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as well as our own. To those who oppose, this country was founded on a "Join, or Die" sentiment. We must be united.

Without people isolating in their own homes anymore, requiring masks in public spaces is the least that we can all do to stop the spread and flatten the curve of COVID-19. This is still a very real thing, if an individual wants to have a choice in this, they can choose to stay home if they don’t feel comfortable protecting themselves and those around them.

This ordinance is unjust, truly unenforceable and is aimed at targeting those who wish to have the freedom of choice.

If it was so important to have masks, why wasn’t the demand first instead of shutting all the businesses down?? Start by getting free masks stations. Now Since We have tons of people unemployed I’m sure it’ll be easy to find help.

I fully support this ordinance. Wearing masks in public spaces is a very easy and simple way to reduce the spread of the virus and save lives. Wisconsin is currently facing one of the worst spikes in the country. We need to wear masks to lower the spread.
