I believe healthcare is a personal responsibility. This can look like different things for different people, & might not mean wearing a mask for everyone. As individuals we must make this choice for ourselves.

I do not agree that the government forcing its citizens to wear masks in public is just in a free society. My health as it relates to my body is my choice.

If the committee should choose to mandate masks & my voice gets drown out by my opposition, I would demand that the committee put into place a scientific measure that determines when masks are no longer needed.

    Thank you.

Please make this a mandate, everyone needs to be respectful to their community and wear a mask when necessary.
I am fearful when people aren’t wearing a mask out. If you want to go in public wear a mask- it’s simple.

Mask wearing is a science-backed approach to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and will help protect essential workers and residents alike.

Just do it for the sake of the health of your constituents. If they are dead, because of your selfish reasoning, the economy in WI will not recover. Even businesses are in favor of face covering.

Wearing a mask is a simple, easy thing that everyone can do to try to keep others safe. I am shocked at the number of people that think a minor discomfort or inconvenience is really more important that someone else's life.

As a registered nurse that must continue to see patients, I feel it’s in Milwaukee’s best interest to mandate masks.

These masks do not prevent the spread of any virus!! Surgeon General and Dr. Fauci have publicly stated that masks don't provide any protection. You're going to provide citizens with cloth masks that are going to do absolutely nothing. I suppose Dr. Kowalik has never studied other immune boosting things such as vitamins, minerals, sunlight, HUMAN INTERACTION, whole foods, and oh the importance of OXYGEN! We cannot allow them to infringe on our rights so people can have a false sense of security. This committee is an absolute joke. The fact this is even a topic shows how little you all know.

This is an easy step that we can take to slow the spread of COVID.

I believe the mask do help. There have been numerous experiments or demonstrations done to show the effect of masks. This isn't a life time thing but we need to take action now.

I fully support this initiative. The U.S. has some of the highest numbers of COVID in the world and a mandatory use of a mask has been scientifically shown to decrease numbers. Illinois did a great job with enforcing this and I wish Milwaukee would have done this sooner. I also agree with fines for people who do not wear masks because they are knowingly not caring for the lives of other people.

The Milwaukee Food Council Board of Directors supports this ordinance. Mandating face coverings in public spaces will help keep our essential food systems workers safe and healthy - particularly those that are employed at grocers, farmers markets, and restaurants whose businesses help keep our families fed.

I’ve been wearing a mask throughout r to he COVID-19 pandemic while at work and in other public places. It’s not even a minor inconvenience anymore. It’s something I’ve become accustomed to at this point. I’m in full support of a mandated mask ordinance. We must slow the spread if COVID, and everyone needs to do their part.

Cases are rising here to a disgraceful amount. Other cities who are requiring face masks have seen positive results. This needs to be done immediately!

I support the requirement for face coverings to be worn in public spaces. Wearing a mask is the easiest and most effortless thing we can do to keep others and in return ourselves a little safer during this pandemic.

We need to wear masks in public spaces in order to slow the spread of Covid-19. This is such an easy way for us to collectively protect each other.

    I strongly oppose this ordinance.
A private business has the right to require a mask to be worn by customers but the government does not have the right to force any such thing on the general public.
Small businesses are already hurting and a mask mandate will only drive more customers away from the city. I urge you to let reason, not panic dictate your decision.

We need to mandate masks in public spaces in order to keep our community safe. Not only does it keep our community healthy, but it will stop/slow the spread and allow our local businesses to remain open. The last thing we need as a community is another complete shut down.
