Protect our rights, not our health... My doctors and I have my health taken care of. 'm healthy, but my rights are in serious danger of dying. What's next? Masks for cold and flu season? Maybe we should all be forced to shave our heads so we all look the same? I think differently because I've reviewed all the latest studies, scientific data, and the actual facts -- not just what the media selectively parrots. Guess what? Age old advice (hand washing, not touching the face/eyes/nose, staying home when sick) protects you and others. Enough said. Be free, be safe, be responsible, be yourself.

I’m in charge of my health! Not the government!

Masks are an easy, accessible, low-cost way that everyone can help prevent the spread of COVID. If we don't require residents to wear masks in public, Milwaukee businesses and people will continue to suffer. We shouldn't allow COVID to continue to grow unchecked in our city when simple measures like masks can help stop it.

I am strongly opposed to this. The government has no right to mandate that we wear masks. This illness is not nearly as terrible as the media and politicians have tried to convince us of. In the entire state of Wisconsin, only 276 people are currently hospitalized for Covid-19 (https://covidtracking.com/data#state-wi). That’s 276 out of approximately 5.85 million people, or about 1 in 21,195. This is ridiculous! Forcing people to wear masks puts us at far greater health risks than it protects us from! Stop the madness (and the CO2 poisoning)!

I fully support this. It is irrefutable that face masks will help slow the spread of this virus until a vaccine is approved and available.

Strongly oppose. Evidence shows oxygenation is impaired with face coverings, and even before this pandemic, many hospital professionals acknowledged that masks are COMPLETELY ineffective after 20 min. I especially oppose for the outdoors. Evidence shows our indoor air quality is significantly poorer than the outdoors, so we NEED fresh air. We need access to fresh air and physical activity outdoors daily to optimize vit D levels and ACE2 enzyme reserves to help mitigate effects of COVID. You can’t completely stop this virus, so don’t take away our ability to protect our own bodies.

This is an easy way to keep Milwaukee safe while also showing care for our neighbors. I fully support making masks mandatory in public spaces.

Heck no! Businesses or private individuals can require masks in their establishment if they feel it's in their best interest. For the government to mandate it is an overreach!

Why are the people who already wear masks afraid of those who dont? If the masks work then YOU are fine. This should be a personal choice, not a government mandate. I for one dislike continuously recycling carbon dioxide. Strongly opposed.

With Wisconsin now leading in virus reproduction rates, it's more important than ever to take any steps we can go mitigate infecting others. Please listen to scientists and healthcare experts who almost unanimously support masks in reducing the spread. Even if imperfect, this minor inconvenience will reduce infections and protect those most at risk. It's the least we can do to protect our communities and essential workers who face the public. Always better safe than sorry... particularly in light of asymptomatic and presymptomatic spread!

I support this measure as a way to help control the spread of this virus. After reading many comments here, I think there is a misunderstanding about why masks are worn. Cloth masks are not worn to protect the mask-wearer from getting the virus. They are worn to prevent the mask-wearer from unintentionally spreading the virus to others. You wear a mask to protect other people, not to protect yourself. I protect you, you protect me, and the spread of the virus is reduced. If we want schools to be open and sports to start up again, this is one of the best ways to move towards those goals.

The science supports this easy and unobtrusive step to stem the spread of Covid-19. considering that Wisconsin currently has the *highest* transmission rate in the country, we MUST take this step.

This must happen to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Milwaukee.

I fully support this measure to keep Milwaukeeans safer. Masks are a vital component in prevention of the spread of COVID-19 and among the efforts we must take to move forward safely and effectively.
