Make masks mandatory in public spaces. Those who wish not to wear them should stay home. This isn't a political matter, this is a public health matter.

    Absolutely unnecessary.

Please require masking to protect our community within businesses and outdoor. Masks help and it helps keep each other safe.

I fear that those with anxiety and claustrophobia will be harmed by this ordinance. Also, masks are expensive and they City of Milwaukee does not have enough money to offer disposable masks to all Service Workers, Grocery Clerks and Hospital worker nor to the general public! So this is an impossible to enforce and expensive ordinance. Make them optional.

I have PTSD from past trauma, making wearing a mask more of a risk to me than this virus will ever be. There are a lot of individuals just like me. Masks should only be worn by those who are susceptible to risk from illness, ANY illness, not just covid-19 - AND they need to remain optional. There is mounting evidence that masks do not do much for protecting from viruses anyway. If a person is immunocompromised, it is up to them to take safety precautions to avoid risk, not the job of everyone else.

This is taking away freedom. Cases may be increasing but deaths are decreasing. No reason for masks and no reason for another shutdown.

NO! Absolutely not. You've done enough damage already. We will always have viruses. They are a part of everyday life.

We should not be forced to wear masks, it is our right to decide.

Scientific review has found masks ineffective:

A study found COVID is not easily passed

    There are several health conditions surrounding lungs and oxygen circulation through the blood that should not be hindered with masks, including respiratory airway disease, asthma, diabetes, lung cancer, smokers, heart conditions, lupus, Raynaud's disease;
According to HIPPA laws it is illegal to ask health conditions

Absolutely NOT. Huge infringement on personal rights, and what ever happened to "my body, my choice"?

You cannot tell us what to wear or how to care for ourselves. It is our right to make this decision for ourselves. NO TO FORCED MASKS!

    Infringement on freedoms.

Absolutely not! Many scientific studies show no statistical benefit for wearing a mask during a pandemic. An individual is responsible for his or her health. So many people have complained about health issues from wearing masks, and the New England Journal of Medicine has stated - "The chance of catching COVID-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal."

Mandatory mask wearing is a violation of our American freedoms. No health care of any matter should be forced upon its citizens.
If someone chooses to wear a mask, then that is their right ad a citizen but should not be mandatory.
Please look at Sweeden for how they handled this pandemic.

Absolutely not! It should be a individual choice not one mandated by a “local” political board.

We were originally supposed to slow the spread, to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed by a predicted high amount of cases requiring intensive care.
4 months of data later, we know it is contagious, but the vast majority either do not show symptoms, or have very mild symptoms. The rate of severe cases is like the flu. Our hospitals are not overwhelmed.
Are we supposed to never be sick again? This is unrealistic.
This is about individual rights, and if you start taking them away, they will never return.
If you are fearful, you have the RIGHT to make the CHOICE to wear a mask or stay home.

I SUPPORT legislation to require mask-wearing in indoor public spaces.
I OPPOSE legislation that would give Police one more tool to crack down on peaceful protesters.
The devil is in the details. There is no legislation text here, and the reference to the LA law is ambiguous.

100% against this. It is an infringement on individual rights and also discrimination against those who have medical, mental or other conditions that prevent them from mask wearing. There are numerous informative sites about the problems with mask wearing. Especially when related to the general public and the same mask being used over and over. The wrong type of masks being used. And the lack of evidence to support the need for and effectiveness of masks. It would be an over reaction and an overreach of power to require masks for all.

I do not agree with this for all of the reasons others whom oppose it as well stated. No need to constantly reiterate what has been said. I do feel that it is the government's job to listen to ALL voices and not just the ones select ones whom agree with the agenda.
