Strongly against this mandate. There are a lot of proven negatives to wearing masks and those also need to be considered! Masks are for sick people, not healthy people and as we approach community heath, we should be looking at things that help people stay healthy not make them more susceptible other diseases. This should not be a one sided decision but we need to look at the costs to a mandate (including increases mental health issues).

This is completely unnecessary and a waste of taxpayer money. Masks cost about $3 at any grocery store and doctors and dentists are handing them out for free. Also, as more and more people contract Covid-19 and then recover, fewer and fewer people will have any reason to be wearing a mask.

This is a major health issue, and the city should help anyone in need procure masks to protect the public.

Strongly opposed. It is not the government’s job to protect our health. It is the government’s job to protect our liberties. It’s our job to protect our health. Trading liberty for “safety” is an automatic loss.

Masks a symbol and not effective. We must stop the fear mongering. The number of cases is up, but so are the number of tests. Please analyze the data. The conclusion is clear. There is no reason to mandate face masks.

Unnecessary as we shouldn’t be forced to wear a mask in public

Yes, extreme fines should be avoided to not criminalize poverty if a mask cannot be purchased.

Tax payer money should not be wasted on providing masks. I’m sure with a government contract, the price per mask will be astronomical too!

As even the box that contains the most common masks used states that they do not prevent covid or the the spread of any infectious disease, why is this even up for consideration? This is just another infringement on our personal right to choose in giving people a false sense of security. Even Dr Fauci has stated that masks are more "symbolic" than effective, and the CDC is on the verge of declaring this Covid -19 no longer a pandemic. What is the REAL reason for this bogus resolution?? Please vote no. Tmaney

Though the extended and improper use of masks have given people the false sense of security, the proven and ongoing lack of hygenic care by those that wear the cloth masks do not protect as well as assumed. The social distancing and personal responsibility for limiting desease spread js the key to slowly exposing everyone to the virus and producing the herd immunity needed.

This is just common sense. People need to be wearing masks to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 so the masks should be provided. Please also make sure there are strict rules and access for properly disposing of masks. There has been so many masks just being littered. Protect the environment too!

Before spending more money on free masks, tell me what the infection rate is? If you don't know, here is some help. As of 7/8 Milwaukee County has 12,728 confirmed cases over the past 4 months. According to DHS the population of the county is 954,209. To do simple math to find the math you take the cases divided by the population times 100. 12,728 / 954,209=.0133x100= 1.33%! For the state you would apply the same math. 33,154 / 5.8 million= .0057x100= .57%! The infection rate is so low there is no reason to wear a mask. #unmasktruth

Strongly Opposed! Masks shouldnt be mandatory therefore this agenda item is obsolete. I can think of so many other things that tax payers dollars would be better spent on than masks.

Science says masks are the best defense against this virus. More folks will wear a mask if there is a mandate. We NEED this.
