This would help eliminate the excuse that people can’t get one or don’t have one as a reason not to wear one.

People should wear masks when grocery shopping or when they are in any indoor space. However, who is going to enforce this mandate? Beleaguered and often unorganized managers at big box stores where people are out shopping? Citizens reporting other citizens in stores for not wearing masks? It would be great to create jobs for inspectors to go out into stores and into parks and just remind people about masks or social distancing. Too much responsibility is being put on the individual. It's too confusing and it makes it too easy for people to dismiss guidelines/mandates.

Masks work. (Refer time The Lancet for the scientifically proven data regarding reduction in virus transmission).

If it will get people to wear a mask, sure.

Providing low quality masks will give people a false sense of security, encouraging them to engage in more risky behavior. Cloth masks are dangerous and surgical masks need to be changed every 20 minutes.

Masks should be available for everyone. So many people out of work or living on extremely tight budgets should not have to choose between keeping their family safe or buying groceries.

Yes and please allow distribution to be simple and convenient such as: handed out by Milwaukee bus drivers for those who ride the bus or have distribution sites outside local schools so people don’t have to travel far to receive one.

This is a health crisis, not a political statement on "freedom." Wear a mask.

Wear a mask! The infection rate is increasing at an alarming rate; other countries where masks mandates were put in place are seeing control over it. We need to do the same.

Wearing a mask is the easiest thing one can do to assist in lowering the cases and working towards things getting back to “normal”. Madison recently passed this and other states have, as well; Milwaukee, as a city, can and should do better to protect it’s residents. Those whom oppose are selfish and clearly not concerned about the wellbeing of others. Our numbers are rising and we should take some cues from countries that have successfully lowered theirs. One of the ways they were able to do this was mandating masks.

I am in support. Please pass this for our safety. This virus is real and it has taken people from us. Please value human lives. Masks are proven to prevent the spread if we all wear them!
