This would alleviate service industry workers from having to enforce different rules restaurant to restaurant. Plus it would protect us and help keep us healthy!

I believe that if one wants to go in public in the state of a global pandemic, it shouldn’t be an option to be a caring citizen by wearing a mask. Humans used to not wear pants, but that was eventually “mandated” and accepted. A face mask to allow our city to run safely should not be an argument. It’s a piece of cloth over your face. You’ll be okay. However, if you or someone gets ill from COVID they will not be, let’s care about the each other.

I oppose the mandate. Businesses can set their own policies.

There is no scientific evidence that wearing masks makes any difference at all. Further, this is a free country where I had understood we could wear what we wanted, when we wanted. If this is being considered because of a recommendation from Milwaukee restaurants, please advise them that they have just killed their own businesses. Milwaukee cannot on the one say we're entering Phase Four (fewer restrictions) and then turn around and add a new mandate-what logic is there in that? Let the city re-open for those citizens who aren't afraid to live their lives. The others won't be out anyway!

I do not agree to wear masks for a virus that has a fatality rate under 1%. This is unnecessary.

I have been an essential worker working with some of the more chronically ill in our city. The citizens of this city are not showing adequate concern for the risk of this pandemic escalating without firm guidance. I don't want to see our city become another statistic in this crisis. Better to ward off an unmanageable spike before its too late.

I feel like this is a no brainer, this is the same principle as making your employees wash their hands after taking a poop.

wearing a mask is the right thing to do, ya dumbs. listen to people who spent their lives studying this subject and protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community!

There are a lot of very smart doctors recommending that we wear masks to slow the spread of Covid 19, and too many people are not taking their very qualified advice.

Leaving this up to each individual is not working. Not enough of us are wearing masks, and the ones wearing masks are regular mocked and bullied by dangerously misinformed citizens who believe they are either harmful or useless. I am a city employee with regular public contact and no one around me is wearing a mask, making it so much more difficult for me to protect my immunocompromised family. A mandate is the only way to make mask usage widespread enough to be effective.

We need the City to help enforce the CDC guidelines to keep us safe. As owner of MOD GEN, we require masks but need the City to back us up.

I own a bar in the Bayview neighborhood of Milwaukee. I fully support the mandatory wearing of face masks inside of public places. It will save lives. It will save the economy almost 1 trillion dollars according to Goldman Sachs. It will help keep our city or lie neighborhoods and our neighbors safe.

You do not have the right to force the citizens to wear a mask. You don't get to pick a dress code for the American people. Some people have a real hard time breathing, get claustrophobic, or depressed when wearing a mask. Uh do not get to make everyone suffocate because of a 0.26% fatality rate. All this will do is force people do do their business and their shopping outside of the country, putting even more financial stress on the local businesses and their employees. This is absurd.

This virus is going to spread wither you wear a mask or not. Everyone that wears a mask constantly touches their mask to move it. Now your hands are contaminated and so is every surface you touch. Let’s not even talk about reusing the same contaminated mask multiple times. Wearing a mask will not stop anything. Not to mention in a bar or restaurant where you eat and drink! So what you constantly touch your mask over and over again between each bite? Numbers are “spiking” because of the amount of testing they are doing. But remember it is not the deaths spiking! That is the important number!

I really enjoy calling the police on black folks and THIS right here is gold. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pass this so I can call the police on offending black individuals. I hope for escalation once they arrive to enforce these things.

Thanks to city government for enabling people like myself. You may think I'm kidding, but I'm not. I am 100% legally justified calling the police on every unmasked black face in violation of these rules.

Please do not make a mandate. Allow individuals and businesses to make their own decisions.
