I strongly oppose and will take my business elsewhere if this goes through.

I support mandatory face masks in Milwaukee. As a restaurant employee who comes in contact with many people every day, it is the least you can do to keep yourself and others safe.

NO TO THE ORDINANCE OF MANDATORY FACE MASKS

This isn’t political. This is science. Proper use of any face covering beats coughing and spitting all over. It’s only fair to the people that are working in public because they need an income. If you can’t appreciate these people and how they are serving you, then you should just stay home.

Unfortunately, the US government and the GOP in Wisconsin have failed to provide adequate leadership so it is now time to require people to act responsibly. I support masks to help the spread of COVID-19.

Passing this ordinance would be irresponsible. There are mixed opinions whether face coverings like these actually help in preventing the spread of this disease. Many people do not wear them correctly, end up touching their face more often, and reuse the one-time-use masks, rendering them ineffective. We also know there are people who have gotten respiratory infections from long-term mask usage. You cannot mandate something you know will hurt some people. It must be a free choice if the science is inconclusive! Start focusing our resources on immunity education instead of mandates.

I oppose this. People with healthy immune systems do not need to cover their face. The CDC does not require this.

As a tax paying city of Milwaukee resident, I beg you please do not pass a mask requirement. Deaths and hospitalization rates are going down, masks are not needed.

I strongly oppose mandatory face masks. All of WIsconsin has gone without masks for months and the hospitals have not been overwhelmed.

Please mention joggers/runners/fast walkers specifically in this legislation. The majority of joggers refuse to adhere to any social distancing rules while jogging past the elderly. If a jogger can run for exercise, they have the ability to maintain distancing rules. 1. mentioning "jogging" in legislation might be all that is needed to educate them. 2. expand the distance requirement to 10 feet due to increase droplets vs a person that is just walking. 3. Possibly stating the elderly or people walking on the sidewalk have the "right of way" vs a jogger that considers their jogging priority.

Everyone should be required to wear a mask in public spaces especially stores, restaurants and anywhere indoors

Our community needs decisive action to reduce the COVID infection rate. Too many people do not feel the need to protect their neighbors by wearing a mask. A mask requirement is common sense.

“11. FACE COVERING” contradicts itself, portraying how arbitrary and frivolous this legislation is. Have y'all read the CDC document? Here is the direct link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/cloth-face-covering.pdf which states, “Cloth face coverings are NOT surgical masks or N-95 respirators, both of which should be saved for health care workers and other medical first responders.” Also, how is the unhygienic nature of mass mask misuse (vain compliance) so overlooked as a factor in spreading disease? Let us be honest with ourselves. I call forth the Truth of all being.

The exemptions to this mandate are laughable. How would business owners enforce this? Would they stand at the door and ask people to prove their exemptions? "You have asthma...show me a note from your doctor!" "You have a religious exemption...show me proof from your pastor." This would create a horrible position for them to be in and further divide our community. Many of these exemptions are silent/unseen. Yet people have been harassed already for not wearing masks, with people not knowing their circumstances. Plus, there are many other exemptions that should be valid. For example, pregnancy!

I am opposed to a face coverings ordinance. This should be a personal choice by an individual. If “any” face coverings will do, it’s not about safety anymore - it’s about control.

I DISAGREE WITH MANDATORY MASKS. SHOULD BE PERSONAL CHOICE.
