Being a Bay View resident, I'm in favor of this because that stretch of land would otherwise sit vacant and wasted for decades more. I agree that good, affordable housing must be part of this project. The planners must consider, though, the complaints that will explode from the new residents when frequent, heavy, freight trains rumble slowly along the tracks right outside their windows day after day.

Seems like a great way to redevelop an isolated piece of land. I hope that a bike path extension can be part of this.

Anything that expands pedestrian/bike trails and replaces industrial sites this close to a largely residential area is a win-win.

I have been living in Bay View and the Southside of Milwaukee collectively for almost a decade. Something that bothers me are all of the developments that have come up that do not contribute to diversity and inclusion. I want this project to succeed. I want to see more affordable housing in Bay View, and I also like to see support for emerging small businesses, especially minority small businesses. Our previous alder did not care about that and now we have a few developments nearby that are continuing to gentrify the area. Lastly, I can attest to the fact that it's really easy to get around BV on foot and I would like to see more incentives in these developments and for all residents and visitors to walk and bike instead of drive. I want BV to be THE most friendly place to bike and walk in MKE. We need to introduce more meter parking and market rate parking. It is a proven fact that market rate pricing helps free up parking so we don't need keep asking for MORE. Any revenue from parking should go into making bike/ped No. ONE

I think it's a great idea of the land and will bring a lot of economic activity and potential to the area!
