I strongly support this mural as a contribution to and from Milwaukee's creative community. The project not only supports local creatives, but it enhances public awareness of the importance of the art in our everyday lives.

Tia Richardson is a LIGHT worker and community HEALER through art.

Tia places the visions of the community around her and transforms them into a world via muralism.

Tia Richardson has provided light to Wisconsin for the past 20+ years and should be recognized as someone who listens to her community first.

She acts from a place of love and creation at all times of the day, and should be recognized and allowed to continue to give and share her talent with this world. We are LUCKY to have Tia in our community.

    Imagine.

Imagine Tia Richardson, a locally-based artist creating an installation that not only celebrates our city but is envisioned through the lens of a member of our own community.

Yes, of course we should support the creation of a mural by one of our own very talented artists, Tia Richardson. The requirement of a “certificate of appropriateness” seems arbitrary and an impediment to the generation of public art in our city. An agreement to create public art by owners of buildings and artists does not need to require “approval” by city officials.

One of the most beautiful parts of Milwaukee is its art AND its artists. Let's amplify local artists and our community!

Public art can be amazing when the right voices are centered and heard. Tia Richardson is an important artist in Milwaukee and I want her to continue to hear her voice and see her art! We should put a lot more time, energy and resources into projects that support our local talent, like this one.
